1. Domain Registration
- 1.1.
How long will it take to register my domain name?
- We will process your domain registration order
within 24 hours, provided the registration form
is filled out correctly. A confirmation email,
which contains your domain password, will be sent
to you once your domain is registered successfully.
As soon as you received a confirmation email from
us, your domain is officially registered. However,
the activation of your domain name will take up
to 72 hours. This is to allow your domain's information
to be propagated in all the DNS servers globally.

- 1.2. What do
I get with my domain name registration?
- Click here to see the list of services you will
receive when you register a domain name with us.
Please note that we reserve the right to withdraw
or change the list of free services we provide
currently.

- 1.3. Once my
domain name is registered, can anyone else take
it?
- As long as your domain is registered to your
name, all the required fees are paid and it's
not in breach of any law, trademark or copyright,
nobody else can either use it or take it without
your consent. As an added security measure, your
domain will be automatically locked so that it
cannot be transferred to another person or registrar
without identification documents from you. It
will be unlocked only when you choose to use your
own DNS servers or requested by you.

- 1.4. I have
registered my domain name successfully but why
does it still appear to be available in a Whois
search?
- All recently registered domain names (within
last 48 hours) will still shown as available in
a Whois search. This is normal. It can take up
to 72 hours for some domain names to be updated
in the Whois server. If you've received a confirmation
from us, you can be sure that it's registered
and nobody else can register it again..

- 1.5. I just
registered my domain but where do I get the password
to access it?
- If you have just registered your domain from
our website, then wait for our confirmation email.
We will process your order within 24 hours and
send you the confirmation email when your domain
is registered successfully. Your domain password
as well as information to access your domain will
be contained in this email. Please contact us
only if you do not receive the confirmation email
after 48 hours. In most cases, you have probably
mistyped your email address during registration
or there's something wrong with your mail server.

- 1.6. Can I cancel
a registration after submitting the order form?
- Sorry, no. Once the registration process has
been initiated it can't be canceled, so choose
your domain wisely. Please remember to double-check
and verify that you have typed in your domain
name correctly in the order form.

- 1.7. Is there
any other hidden fee or charges for my domain
registration order?
- No. The amount you are paying as specified on
the order form is all you need to pay for your
domain name. There is no other hidden fees or
charges. We do not charge you for all the free
services we provide you currently as well. We
will inform you for services that require additional
fee when necessary.

- 1.8. Do I need
to register all three domain name extensions:
.com, .net and .org?
- You will realize that the expense for domain
name registration and support is minor compared
to the marketing expense to promote and establish
your domain name in the marketplace. The last
thing you want to happen is to have someone else
(your competitor in most cases) benefit from your
efforts in establishing your name. You will see
competitors registering names close to yours,
trying to benefit from typo mistakes your visitors
may make. For example, someone tried registering
yahho.com in order to piggyback on the popular
yahoo.com. We strongly recommend that you register
all 3 domain extensions for your business, service
or products.

- 1.9. How many
year should I register my domain name for?
- Although you can register your domain name for
a minimum of 1 year, we would recommend that you
register it for a longer period than that. Thousands
of individuals, companies and organizations are
losing their domain names due to reasons such
as outdated contact information, missed renewal
payments, hijacking, employee sabotage, and even
computer or clerical errors. This resulted in
web sites and e-mail being disrupted for weeks.
If your domain name is important to you or you
want to avoid any inconvenience of losing your
domain, register it for as long as you can afford.

- 1.10. Do I have
to provide all the information requested on the
registration page?
- Yes, we require your personal information in
order to verify your identity before we can process
your order. These information will also be displayed
in the Whois search for your domain. If you wish
to keep some parts of your information as private,
you may edit and update the contact information
when you receive the password to access your domain.
However, you should provide at least a valid name
and email address for the admin contact information.
In this way, you are still contactable should
there be any problem arises with your domain name.
You should also update your email address whenever
there's any changes so that we are able send you
reminder for your domain renewal.

- 1.11. Does
the price that I pay includes web hosting on your
server?
- No. You will need to pay to host your web pages.
We offer Unix and Windows Hosting Plans for You.

2. Domain Transfer
- 2.1.
How do I transfer my domain name to Instantwebhosting
from another registrar?
- Click here for our transfer procedures and requirements.

- 2.2.
I have just made payment for my transfer order,
what should I do next?
- We will send you a verification email to the
email address listed as the Administrative Contact
of your domain, to confirm that you are the legitimate
person to transfer the domain. You must reply
to this email which will contain a verification
code before we will submit your transfer request.
Please contact us if you do not receive our verification
email within 48 hours.

- 2.3.Is
there a fee for transferring a domain name to
Instantwebhosting?
- Yes, it will be the same fee as if you were
registering a new name. However, your domain name
will also be extended for another year, on top
of the existing valid period you have. For example,
if your existing domain has six more months to
expiry, the expiry date will extend to 1 year
and 6 months later when it is transferred to us.

- 2.4.
Once I transfer my name to you, does my time of
renewal change?
- Yes, it simply adds one more year to the time
you have left on your original registration.

- 2.5. When should I
initiate the transfer process before my domain
expire?
- We recommend that you begin the transfer process
by sending us your transfer order at least 2 months
before your domain expiry. This is to avoid any
unforeseen complication or delay during the transfer
process. Do not try to wait until the last week
before your domain expire as it creates unnecessary
risk for your domain.

- 2.6. How long will
it take to transfer my domain to Instantwebhosting?
- If your domain has met all the necessary requirements,
it can take as short as 3 business days for the
transfer to complete. However, this is not a guarantee
that it will happen to your domain transfer all
the time. It also depends very much on your registrar's
response to our transfer request. If they failed
to respond or delayed the process it will be something
beyond our control.

- 2.7. If I transfer
my name to Instantwebhosting, does the Whois information
stay the same?
- No, the Whois information will need to be re-entered,
because this information is not transferred. However,
the name server information will remain the same.
In the case of multiple domains transfer, your
domain contact information for those domains that
are transferred earlier may be filled in with
our company's information. This is done automatically
by our server and it is only temporary. The contact
information will be updated to the information
provided by you when all the domains are transferred.

- 2.8.Under what circumstances
will my domain transfer be rejected?
- There are a few very important conditions that
must be met in order for your transfer request
to be approved by your registrar:
o Your domain is required to be with the current
registrar for at least 60 days. If you have just
registered or transferred your domain within the
last 60 days, your transfer request will not be
accepted.
o Your domain cannot have an expired status. You
are no longer the legitimate owner of your domain
once it is expired. You must renew your domain
with your registrar before sending us your transfer
order.
o Your domain's Administrative Contact information
must be valid or updated. You must be the person
listed in the admin contact of your domain and
the email address listed in the admin contact
must be valid or updated.
o You need to reply to our verification email
before we will submit your transfer request.
o You must reply to your registrar's confirmation
email within 48 hours. Your registrar will send
you a confirmation email to confirm your intention
to transfer your domain. It will be sent to the
email address listed as the Administrative Contact
of your domain. Your transfer request will be
rejected by your registrar if you fail to reply
to their email promptly.
Please DO NOT send us your transfer order if your
domain do not meet the first 3 conditions. Your
transfer request will certainly fail if either
of these 3 conditions are not met.

- 2.9.Why is my domain
still not transferred after more than 10 business
days?
- The most common reason for a delayed domain
transfer is caused by your failure to respond
to your current registrar's confirmation email.
If you do not reply to this email within 48 hours,
your transfer request will be rejected. The problem
is, sometimes it's very difficult to understand
the instructions in the confirmation email. You
need to read it carefully and reply appropriate
to the instructions given.

- 2.10. What happened
if my transfer is rejected or delayed?
- We can re-submit the transfer request for you
after you have carried out necessary actions such
as contacting your registrar to request for the
release of your domain, update the email address
for the Admin contact of your domain, or provide
us the correct admin contact information. We may
cancel the transfer order if our repeated attempts
to transfer your domain is still not successful.

- 2.11. What should
I do if my domain has expired but it is still
not transferred?
- This often happens when you try to transfer
your domain within the last few days of your domain's
expiry. The normal transfer process will take
about 5-7 business days to complete so your domain
may have expired before it is transferred. In
such cases, you will have to renew your domain
with your registrar before we can re-submit the
transfer request for you again. Our advice is,
do not wait till last minute before sending us
your transfer order.

- 2.12. I have received
the confirmation email from my registrar but I
failed to reply on time?
- If you missed the 48 hours timeframe given by
your registrar to reply to their confirmation
email, your transfer request will be rejected
by them. You can try to contact them and request
that they accept your late reply. However, in
most cases they will require you to re-submit
the transfer request again. Please inform us when
such situation occur.

- 2.13. Is there a charge
by Instantwebhosting if I decide to transfer away
to another registrar at a later date?
- No, we do not charge you to move away from us.
However, you will have to submit the transfer
request to your new registrar. We do not process
domains that are transferring away from us.

- 2.14. My web hosting
company asked me to transfer my domain to them,
what should I do?
- There's a big difference between transferring
a domain versus transferring a nameserver. The
first case refers to transferring your domain
to your web host and letting them become your
domain registrar. This is not a necessity. If
your web host insists then it is questionable
about their intent. They might be coercing you
to accept them as your registrar and charge you
a much higher domain price. In most situation,
what they are asking you to do is to transfer
your domain to their DNS servers.

- 2.15. My domain name
has just expired but when I try to register it
as a new name, it says that the domain is not
available. How can I register my domain again?
- Typically, most registrar will hold on to their
expired domain for some time. They may keep them
for as long as 90 days. You can only register
your expired domain again after it has been released
by your registrar. The problem is, you can't tell
when this will take place since each registrar
has it's own policy on this.
We have provided the Domain Watch service for
the purpose of monitoring the status of your expired
domain. It will notify us as soon as your domain
is released for registration again. Please contact
us if you are interested in the Domain Watch
service.

3. Email Services
- 3.1. Is the email
account offered on the Instantwebhosting's server
made up of actual POP3 accounts?
- No, the service we provide is a simple "alias"
mail forwarding service that will forward your
domain name e-mail to an actual POP3 account.
Your emails will not be stored on our server.

- 3.2. When I go to
enter my email addresses on the Domain Manager,
only a few blanks lines appear even though you
say I can have 250 email addresses. Why?
- Initially, only 5 empty rows will appear for
you to enter your email addresses. If you use
up all the available rows and click on the Modify
button at the bottom of the page, more empty rows
will automatically appear in the Email Forwarding
section.

- 3.3. Why is my email
forwarding not working as it should?
-
You must make sure that you are using our mail
server to handle your email accounts. Your email
forwarding will not work if your mail server Resource
Record is not set up properly. You need to configure
your domain to use our mail server by creating
the following entry for your domain.
- 3.4. Does Instantwebhosting
offer a “catch all” email account
for getting all emails to go to my domain?
-
Yes, we do provide this feature without any additional
charge to our customers. Please click here to
see how to set up a "catch all" email
account.
- 3.5. What is the difference
between MXE (Mail Easy) and MX (Mail) records?
-
MXE (Mail Easy) is only in use when forwarding-mail
to an IP address (ie. 209.19.56.20).
MX (Record) Record Type is used when forwarding
email to a mail server name, ie. mail.mailserver.com.
NOTE: the dot "." at the end of the
mail server name. You MUST include a dot at the
end of any mail server name.
Here are two examples, the first using MXE
and the other using MX:
- 3.6. I have just created
a new email forwarding account but it is not working
-
It will take about 12-48 hours for your new email
account to be effective. Please contact us if
your email account is still not forwarding correctly
after 48 hours.
4. Dns Name Server
- 4.1.What is a DNS
name server?
- A domain name server is similar to a phone book.
It tells the Internet programs (e.g. web browsers)
where to go by translating the domain name into
an Internet (IP) address. Every Internet Service
Provider (ISP) has its own DNS servers. You need
at least 2 DNS server names to specify who is
hosting your domain or web site. You can find
out the address of your DNS servers if you are
hosting your web site with a web hosting company.

- 4.2. Where do I
get information about the DNS server for my web
site?
- Typically, you will get the DNS information
from your web hosting company. The DNS information
consists of letters and/or digits separated by
periods (.). Example: NS1.ABAC.COM.

- 4.3. How do I get
to the page to change the name servers for my
domain name?
- Click on the word “Manage Domain”
on the left column of this page or go to http://manage.instantwebhosting.net.
Type in your domain name and password. Click on
the word Nameservers under the View/Modify section.
After changes have been made, click on Modify
button at the bottom of the page. You may also
click here to see how to change the DNS server
information for your domain

- 4.4.Can I use other
name servers besides those supplied by Instantwebhosting?
- Yes, you can use any name servers that you like,
as long as they are already known to Verisign
Global Registry.

- 4.5. When I try
to change my name servers, there is an error,
why is this?
- The name servers might not be registered at
the Registry, or you have entered the address
of your name servers incorrectly. Please do not
use the IP address of your name servers when you
change the name server information of your domain
in our Domain Manager. Use the hostname (eg. ns1.nameserver.com)
of your name servers instead.

- 4.6. How do I get
to the page to modify or update my domain contact
information?
- You need to log in to the Domain Manager (http://manage.instantwebhosting.net),
click on Contact Information link under the View/Modify
section to change any of your domain contact information.

- 4.7. I transferred
my domain to your name servers today but my site
is not coming up, why?
- Moving a domain name can take a couple of days.
First, the central registry has to update their
databases and over the weekends they can be a
bit slow. This can take up to a day sometimes.
Besides that, each and every ISP has to cache
the new registry database and this can take a
few days, although normally 1-2. Normally, a local
ISP will only update their name servers once per
day so even if Whois shows your DNS information
updated, your local ISP may still be using yesterday's
database. This always clears up after 1-2 days.
The good thing is that it's usually only the domain
name owner that will experience the caching delay.
Normal site visitors that haven't visited your
website recently will not have cached the old
DNS information and will be able to get to your
site even though you may not.

5. Domain Pricing/Billing
- 5.1. I registered
and purchased a name, then noticed that I misspelled
it. Can I delete it and get my money back?
- Once your domain name is officially registered
in the Internic's central registry, we will not
be able to remove it. Therefore, we will not be
able to refund you when your domain is registered,
even if you decide to cancel your order later.
Please double check your order before sending
it. However, we will refund you if your registration
is not successful, for any reason. As long as
the domain name is not registered, you will get
your money back.

- 5.2. My domain
transfer was not successful, will I get my money
back?
- Yes, you will get a refund if your transfer
order is not successfully. Some registrars do
not refund you for your transfer order, for whatever
reason. But we do not see why we should keep your
money if your domain is not transferred.

- 5.3. Instantwebhosting's
Registration Agreement says something about having
to pay $50 for re-instatement of a domain name,
could you explain?
- The $50 fee is *not* the fee to register a domain
name or the fee to renew a domain name. It is
the fee to re-instate the name after the payment
was denied. It is used, for example, in the following
circumstance:
1. A user registers a name and pays for it with
a credit card.
2. Later, the user denies to the credit card company
that he registered the name.
3. The credit card company refunds money back
to the user and takes funds out of our bank account.
Thus, the user has the name but did not pay for
it, even though Instantwebhosting has paid for
it.
4. Therefore, we will put the name "on hold"
so that the user does not have access to it, thereby
"taking back" the name from the user.
When this happens, the domain and all it's email
operation will be suspended.
5. After all this, the user decides he wants the
name after all.
6. He would have to pay us $50 for us to reinstate
the name to him and take the name "off hold".
7. If the domain is not re-instated, we will put
up the repossessed name for sale at a later date,
at our discretion.

- 5.4.Why does the
transaction details for my domain order appear
differently on my credit card statement?
- Your transaction is being processed by our payment
processing agent 2CheckOut. The transaction details
on your credit card statement would look something
like "InstantWebHosting" or something
similar. Please contact
us for clarification on your transaction if
you are in doubt.

- 5.5. Do you accept
other mode of payment besides credit card?
- At the present moment, we prefer to accept payment
through credit cards such as Visa or Master Card.
However, if you do not have a credit card, we
may accept payment through Inter-Bank Wire Transfer
(SWIFT) or bank draft. Please contact our sales
staff for details on such payment method.
6. Domain Parking
- 6.1.What is
“parking”, and can I “park”
my domain name with you?
- Parking simply means registering a name and
doing nothing with it, and yes, you can “park”
your domain with us for free.

- 6.2. Are the
terms "parking page", "under construction",
and "welcome" page the same thing?
- Yes, these terms mean the same thing. At Instantwebhosting,
we use the term "parking page".

- 6.3. How do
I park my domain?
- First, register your domain name. After the
initial 24 hour waiting period following the registration,
our software will automatically set up your free
"parking" page with the IP address of
202.157.161.221. This page cannot be uploaded
to or ftp'd to for any reason.

- 6.4. Can I
upload my own home page to your server?
- No. We do not provide any web space for your
domain and our parking page is automatically configured.
It can't be changed or replaced by your own home
page.

- 6.5. I have
accidentally changed the parking page address,
how do I point my domain to it again?
- You can reset your domain to point to our parking
page by configuring your domain as follows:
|
